Organisational Development
Helping organisations remove the barriers that make work harder than it needs to be.
We work with organisations to identify and address the underlying issues that affect how people work together — psychosocial risks, poor communication, unclear expectations and cultures where people don't feel safe to speak up. We can even do a culture check on your business, because everyone acts a little different when the boss walks in.
What is organisational development?
Organisational development (OD) is the work of improving how an organisation functions — not just its processes, but its culture, its communication and the way people relate to each other.
At Dinkum People, we focus on the practical end of OD. We're not here to run a three-year transformation programme or produce a 200-page strategy document. We're here to help you identify what's actually getting in the way and do something about it.
That might mean working with your leadership team, running workshops with frontline staff, reviewing your people practices or helping you understand and address psychosocial risks in your workplace.
What we work on
Psychosocial safety
We help organisations understand and address psychosocial hazards — the things at work that can harm people's mental health. This includes job demands, poor support, lack of role clarity, bullying and harassment, and poor organisational change management.
Workplace culture
We work with organisations to understand their current culture — what's working, what isn't, and what needs to change. We focus on the practical behaviours and practices that shape how people experience work every day.
Communication and difficult conversations
We help organisations build the skills and confidence to have honest conversations — between leaders and teams, across departments, and at every level of the organisation.
Leader and team development
We design and deliver development programmes for leadership teams and frontline managers — practical, relevant and grounded in the real challenges your people face.
People practices and processes
We review and improve the people practices that shape how work gets done — onboarding, performance conversations, feedback processes and the way expectations are set and communicated.
How we work
We start by listening. Before we recommend anything, we want to understand what's actually happening in your organisation. We work collaboratively with your team, and we're honest about what we find.
We diagnose before we prescribe.
We work with your people, not around them.
We focus on practical changes, grounded in evidence.
We tell you what we actually think. If you want someone to tell you everything is fine, that is probably not us.
Not sure where to start?
Most organisations know something isn't working — they just aren't sure what to do about it. Get in touch and we'll have an honest conversation about what you're seeing and whether we can help.
